also donate to local free legal aid organizations, because as great as it is that these lawyers are providing free services rn, many legal aid orgs already provide free services every day to people who can’t afford to pay for legal help, and rely entirely on donations. bail is important but its only step one in what will be for many a very long and expensive legal process. there are often dozens or more in each state so i wont compile a list but you can easily find the ones in your area by googling. and dont forget about the legal aid orgs geared towards immigrants, because many protestors may face deportation or other retaliation that jeapordizes their ability to stay in the US.

Exactly. I also think a lot of people who talk ‘vote blue no matter who’ shit have never been poor. Like, actually poor and not just mid/lower middleclass. And it shows by how they treat poor people tired of a system that actively wants all dead, or close to it.
Like, nearly everyone in our government is constantly scapegoats the poor, and our entire culture subsists off of the destruction of poor lives. The electoral college was created to KEEP POOR PEOPLE FROM VOTING. And then the caucasity really shows in a lot of these same people who are 'allies’. A lot of them hate people in prisons, despite the entire prison industrial system don’t want bad people in prisons, it wants poor, poc, and poor poc in prison. I’m dirt poor but I’m white, and the fact is that poverty affects poc differently then it will ever affect me. So to put it simply, we have an entire political system built on the destruction and enslavement of the poor, especially the lower class poc in this country. I’m not even gonna go into how queer and disabled identities and how they overlap and with these other identities, just know that the more they overlap, the more the government actively work against their humanity.
So yeah, a lot of us want to tear the whole thing down, but since we’re beginning that process, at least don’t shame us into choosing our oppressors
